Crock Pot BBQ Pulled Pork

Ingredients

5-7 pound whole pork shoulder (Pork Butt, Boston Butt, etc.)
1 medium to large onion
A few cloves of garlic
BBQ Rub Seasoning
Liquid Smoke
BBQ Sauce
Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop onions and garlic and add to crock pot. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. Coat pork should with BBQ rub and BBQ sauce. Optionally, wrap in plastic and refrigerate with seasonings overnight.

  3. Add pork to crock pot with 1-2 tablespoons of liquid smoke.

  4. Fill crock pot about 2/3 with water.

  5. Cook on low for 8-12 hours. Can also cook on high in 3-4 hours.

  6. Remove bones from meat. Transfer meat to a large bowl with tongs. Discard the liquid and vegetables.

  7. Use two forks to shred the meat.

  8. Add BBQ sauce to taste (20-40oz) and mix into the pork.

  9. Serve on hamburger buns and enjoy!
